The University of Virginia enters the 21st century as one of the most distinguished public universities in the nation. Holding fast to educational principles described by Thomas Jefferson almost 200 years ago, the University of Virginia Foundation supports the University's efforts to maintain this distinction by providing innovative, yet prudent management of some of the University's financial and real estate assets.
The
Foundation provides administrative and investment services to other
University-related foundations. It is also the parent corporation
to the University
of Virginia Research Parks, the Historic
Renovation Corporation, Boar's
Head Inn and Birdwood Golf Course,
Morven
Farms and the MeadowCreek Corporation (Cavalier
Inn).
The composition of the Foundation's board ensures that it will always act to further the aims of the University. Chaired by the Rector of the Board of Visitors, the Foundation board includes selected members of the University's Board of Visitors, the President, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, and several senior members of the University administration, as well as distinguished members of the public.
