Deborah
van Eersel is the Director of Marketing for the University of Virginia Foundation.
Deborah joined the Foundation in November of 2001 to promote the University
of Virginia Research Parks and to help foster collaborative research relationships
between Park tenants and the University of Virginia. In addition to promoting
the Research Parks, Deborah assists with other projects associated with
the Foundations development operations. Deborah is active in the community
and serves on the several volunteer Boards, including the Thomas Jefferson
Area United Way.
Deborah previously had a twelve year career in association management, serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Charlottesville Area Association of REALTORS, focusing on leadership, business and process development, strategic planning and legislative affairs. Deborah received a BA in International Business and French from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, studied for a year at the Université de la Sorbonne in Paris, and is fluent in French.
Deborah has been married to her Dutch husband Michel, a meeting and event planning consultant, for twenty years and has a daughter in middle school. Born in Bermuda, Deborah grew up in the Midwest and has called Charlottesville home for eighteen years. |
