Students participating in the Study of the U.S. Institute for Student Leaders on New Media, hosted by University of Virginia’s Center for Politics, spent an evening at Morven.

The institute is part of a broader U.S. Department of State initiative designed to promote a better understanding of the U.S. abroad and to help develop future world leaders. The Center for Politics has organized a program that includes the study of U.S. history, government, and society with a particular focus on New Media. Twenty undergraduate students from Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka prepared traditional dinner dishes from their respective countries in Morven's Meeting Barn on June 17, 2010 . The program also provides participants the opportunity to experience Charlottesville hospitality and recreational opportunities.
